The Conversation sculpture was made of patinated terracotta in Zagreb in 2004. Two stylized women’s figures are shown, each sitting on a pedestal, turned towards each other in silent conversation. The entire surface of the figures, except for the heads, is ribbed with thin longitudinal cuts reminiscent of clothing, creating a restless texture that is in contrast with the smooth planes of the pedestals. Concise and very simple forms depict the interrelation between the two figures and the quiet atmosphere of understanding between them. Their bodies blend and overlap in the bottom part of the sculpture.
