The Protégé sculpture, made of patinated terracotta in 1998 in Zagreb, is elongated, hollow on the inside, with several irregular cuts on the upper and lower part, through which the interior can be seen. The interior becomes just as important as the outer shell enclosing it. Its cylindrical form is slanted on one side, and the cuts and mildly undulating surface give it sense of dynamics and suggest a spiral movement.
