Fragile, stooping figure of an elderly woman carrying a small bundle in her left hand and leaning on a cane with her right hand. The stooped body and left foot forward suggest her tired and slow movement.
The author succeeded in achieving in this small format an almost archetypal depiction of all elderly women, bent from age and hardship, a depiction evoking sympathy and compassion.
