The exhibit is a hand-written certificate confirming that Vinko Bek worked as a teacher at the junior public school from 1892 until the end of the school year in 1895. The document states that he performed his duties thoroughly and that his behavior was highly commendable. The certificate was verified by the stamp of the Public school of Kaptol and the signature of the principal, Josip Klobučar.

In 1892, Vinko Bek appealed to the Royal Local Government, explicitly asking that an institute for the blind be opened. In the appeal he asked to be transferred from Bukevje to Zagreb. His requests related to the opening of the institute were not granted at that time, but he was granted position in the Kaptol Elementary School After he moved to Zagreb, Bek became involved in founding St Vid’s Society that would help the blind and gather funds for the opening of the institute.
